An original, handmade large porcelain platter that was wheel-thrown. A whimsical image of lemons is carved into the surface using a technique that originated in Korea known as mishima, in which I incised the drawing into leather-hard clay and then inlayed a black slip (liquid clay) into the illustrated lines. The fruit and leaves are then hand-painted on. A clear glaze is applied over the entire piece, except for the base.
Dimensions: This large serving platter is approximately 15 inches (38 cm) in diameter and approximately 1-2 inches tall. It is perfect for mezze or appetizers for a crowd.
** Locally supplied fine porcelain clay and glazes
** Glazes used are food-safe
** Hand-washing this piece is recommended
** Suitable for both cold or hot contents
Please note: Handmade ceramic wares by their very nature are unique, inconsistent and may have some imperfections that do not detract from the beauty and function of the piece. Instead, these are indications of the maker's hand and I encourage you to embrace them.
Please send me a message if you'd like to enquire about ordering multiple quantities, to order this piece in another of my botanical designs, or to order this lemon design on another of my wheel-thrown forms.
