What people say: "This bowl is so light and lovely to hold. It's very well made and the translucency of the porcelain is beautiful!"
Bowls are my absolute favorite piece to make! They are so comforting, and versatile. And especially now as many of us navigate living and working from home.
An original, handmade porcelain bowl that was wheel-thrown, and a perfect size for a single-serve. A whimsical image of red poppies is carved into the surface using a technique that originated in Korea known as mishima, in which I incised the drawing into leather-hard clay and then inlayed a black slip (liquid clay) into the illustrated lines. The flowers and leaves are then hand-painted on. A clear glaze is applied over the entire piece, except for the base.
Dimensions: This is a perfect single-serve deeper style bowl for salad, soup, ramen, pasta, cereal. It comfortably holds more than 2 cups (16oz).
Size is approximately 4in (10 cm) tall with a 8in (20 cm) diameter at the rim
** Locally supplied fine porcelain clay and glazes
** Glazes used are food-safe
** Microwavable and dishwasher proof (although hand-washing is recommended to prolong the life of the piece)
** Suitable for both cold or hot contents
Please note: Handmade ceramic wares by their very nature are unique, inconsistent and may have some imperfections that do not detract from the beauty and function of the piece. Instead, these are indications of the maker's hand and I encourage you to embrace them. If multiple quantities of this piece is available, they may be similar but they won't be identical, as each one of them is individually made.
**Your piece may not be identical to the one shown in these images.
