This is an original, handmade porcelain serving dish that was wheel-thrown. A botanical illustration of a variety of succulent, or cactus, plants is carved into the surface using a technique that originated in Korea known as mishima, in which I incised the drawing into leather-hard clay and then inlayed a green slip (liquid clay) into the illustrated lines. A clear glaze is applied over the entire piece, except for the base.
Dimensions: This serving dish is approximately 8.5 inches (22 cm) in diameter and 2 inches (5 cm) tall.
** Locally supplied fine porcelain clay and glazes
** Glazes used are food-safe
** Microwavable and dishwasher proof (although hand-washing is recommended to prolong the life of the piece)
** Suitable for both cold or hot contents
Please note: Handmade ceramic wares by their very nature are unique, inconsistent and may have some imperfections that do not detract from the beauty and function of the piece. Instead, these are indications of the maker's hand and I encourage you to embrace them. If multiple quantities of this piece is available, they may be similar but they won't be identical, as each one of them is individually made.
Please send me a message if you'd like to enquire about ordering multiple quantities, to order this piece or other serving dishes in another of my botanical designs, or to order this succulent design on another of my wheel-thrown forms.
