A original, handmade porcelain cup that was wheel-thrown, and comfortably holds 12 oz. A whimsical image of busy bees in a spring meadow is carved into the surface using a technique that originated in Korea known as mishima, in which I incised the drawing into leather-hard clay and then inlayed a black slip (liquid clay) into the illustrated lines. The bees and leaves are then hand-painted on. A clear glaze is applied over the entire piece, except for the base.
Dimensions: This cup comfortably holds 12 fluid oz.
Size is approximately 4.5in (11.5 cm) tall, 3.5in (8.5 cm) diameter plus an extra 2in (5 cm) for the handle
** Locally supplied fine porcelain clay and glazes
** Glazes used are food-safe
** Microwavable and dishwasher proof (although hand-washing is recommended to prolong the life of the piece)
** Suitable for both cold or hot contents
Please note: Handmade ceramic wares by their very nature are unique, inconsistent and may have some imperfections that do not detract from the beauty and function of the piece. Instead, these are indications of the maker's hand and I encourage you to embrace them. If multiple quantities of this piece is available, they may be similar but they won't be identical, as each one of them is individually made. Your piece may not be identical to the one shown in these images, but it will be very similar. That's because your piece is an original!
Please send me a message if you'd like to enquire about ordering multiple quantities, to order this piece in another of my botanical designs, or to order this bee design on another of my wheel-thrown forms.
